Three things I’d like to say about this post.

Introducing Tonight.co.ke | A Foursquare For Bar Owners & Party Goers In Kenya | TechMoranTonight.co.ke is Kenya’s first all exclusive night-club listing website which promises to bring all the hot night spots near you right to you on the phone, tablet or on a personal computer. ” Tonight is a party pass,” says Dennis Karuga, “It is a simple guide to an awesome night out.

1. There’s clearly some local discovery /experiential trend going around right now, and the bug is spreading. Should I start listing names? Adugbo, Afriscover, Tranzit, SquareCountry and a bunch of others that I forget right now. They do everything from restaurants to night clubs, movies, deals and coupons, events and more. I haven’t thought a lot about what the trigger here is (smarter, cheaper phones, more local service providers willing to reach out to online audiences, more), so I’m loth to dismiss it as another herd phenomenon. Whatever it is, it’s a clear trend.

2. This is random, but the name, Tonight.co.ke looks like something a Spark company would come up with.

3. Tonight bears an uncanny resemblance to Afriscover, except with slightly different value propositions. Of course, no matter since they are in totally different markets. Except maybe if Afriscover suddenly decided that they wanted to live up to their pan-African eponym.
