If you are a techie and you are in Abuja, we hope you can come out to meet other techies in Abuja, and a couple from Lagos. TechCabal + Enspire + Paradigm Initiative Nigeria are putting together a small meetup in the capital this Wednesday.
That’s tomorrow.
Why is this happening? Well Bankole (TechCabal) happens to be in Abuja for PIN’s Internet Intermediary Liability Workshop, more about that here. I arrive Abuja on the 13th, but I have an evening to kill before the event on the 14th and it occurred to me that it would be a good idea to meetup with techies in the area.
Not long after I put the word out on Twitter, the good fellas at Enspire ATV reached out to say they’d be happy to set it up. As it turns out, I’ve been looking for an excuse to check out their incubation facility/activities too, so the serendipity is just on another level.
We’re meeting up at Media Place, No 3, Brian street, opposite Valencia Hotel, off Blantyre street in Wuse 2. Time is 6pm. And oh yeah, it’s a BYOD event — “Buy Your Own Drinks”. We’re gonna talk about tech, quiz each other about what we’re working on, and in general, just hang out.
Also, not promising anything, but it’s also likely that Gbenga Sesan will be making an appearance, to talk about the internet intermediary workshop that will be taking place on the 14th. Just in case you were interested in attending that too.
