In his new role as Country Manager, Makwane is expected to guide Microsoft Nigeria’s towards unlocking the economic opportunities of Africa, in one of the continent’s most dynamic countries. Makwane says he is excited to be spearheading this continued investment in Nigeria, and he looks forward to working with government, industry, academia and the general public to enable Nigeria to realize its potential through innovation.

Before his appointment as Country Manger, Kabelo Makwane was formerly the Public Sector Director for Microsoft South Africa. In a similar move last year, former Microsoft Nigeria Director, Kunle Awosika, was appointed as Country Manager for Kenya. According to Hennie Loubser, General Manager for Microsoft in West, East, Central Africa and Indian Ocean Islands, these swaps ensure that the different regions benefit, learn and gain insights from each other.
