Vuga is an budding music startup with a focus on “Smart African Music”. They are looking to hire (and pay) individuals who will be part of their Alpha Testing phase. Ultimately, these Alpha testers will become members of the Vuga team.

Vuga is divided into 2 main offerings

The Vuga Music Project: This department is responsible to characterizing, adding meta data and other information provided to them by the platform, such as music genre, tempo and psychology feelings to name a few. (This is the heart of the operations)

Vuga RadioOn this platform, computer algorithms arrange and deliver the songs to the users in a seamless and easy to listen to method. So if a user wants to listen to only Romantic Hip Hop that’s all they are going to get and if a users decides to listen to Contemporary Gospel that’s all they are going to get from the platform.

A statement from the Vuga team:

From our inception one thing we have always wanted to do is pay musicians their royalties for commercial use (a stage we haven’t gotten to yet) we reached out to COSON and even set-up a meeting which proved to be futile due to the lack on knowledge and a reliable system on their path. The world Uses ISRC but Nigeria uses IPI codes and they haven’t set it up to function like its international counterparts.

Our goal is to also create a database for, who owns what on a recorded track, that way we can also function like a platform called PPL in the UK. But our main focus for now is growing our catalog and making it smart with our indigenous work.
