swiftkey

SwiftKey, the popular “swyping” based 3rd-party keyboard (which has been free since inception on the Nokia X platform) just ditched premium for freemium on its Android version.

Previously selling for $3.99 on the Play Store, the new update is now free to download. The new update also now includes a few new extra features including:

  • Premium in-app store where you can purchase premium keyboard themes, if that sort of thing catches your fancy.
  • Emoji support for phones running Android KitKat and above.
  • A new number row so you don’t have the switch views to enter numbers (not set by default).
  • Improved predictions

Users who previously paid for the keyboard will get a refund in the form of 10 premium themes worth $4.99.

You can get the update now on the Play Store
