news

We apologise for making bad origami with your PR.

Starting today we will publish all your press releases and news. Seriously, ALL of it. On our new press centre.

TechCabal has grown a lot in just over a year, and one of things we are having to deal with as we scale is how to manage the barrage of technology news that comes at us from the industry on a daily basis. A good amount of that is press releases. We would like to feature as much of it as we can, but there are two things involved.

The first is resource constraints — there are only so many releases three human beings can review, follow-up, fact check, write up and finally publish in one day. The news that eventually gets featured is dependent on relevance, unique angles and the editorial resources at our disposal.

The second, and most important is striking the right balance between the firehose of industry news and the original TechCabal experience for our most loyal readers.

We’ve finally figured out how to do that. The press centre

is a new section of TechCabal, dedicated entirely to technology news and press releases. All news and releases sent here will be published as is. We might shorten some really long headlines, but nothing major.

That doesn’t mean there is entirely no filter though. For obvious reasons, only releases that are about technology will go live. A few more reasons why a release might not get published could be if it looks suspicious, contains potentially misleading information or is just really badly written. But mostly, we’re optimistic that 98 percent of what comes in will pass muster and go live.

For our readers, you now have a choice. The original TC that you know and love is still here at TechCabal.com. But for all the technology PR you can read, it will all be there at pr.techcabal.com.

For all industry stakeholders all over Africa and beyond who have news to share with our community, send all your releases to pr@techcabal.com.

Oh, and did I mention that this service is free? It is.

As always, we value and count on your feedback to enable us iterate. Let us know how we’re doing.
