Another Facebook clone? Why not? Cloudshot, a technology startup, has created a Facebook-like platform for students called VOISS.

VOISS is a social media platform created to provide a channel of communication among students in tertiary institutions.

VOISS will allow users upload files in formats such as mp3, mp4, pdf and the likes.

According to the creator, Kelvin Umechukwu, the platform “was created for the major aim of communication and information dissemination on campuses. Students of tertiary institutions register on the platform stating their faculty, department and level. Through the platform students can post gists, communicate with their course mates, get latest info from class representatives, get information and materials from their lecturers, and also view campus news.”

“One can search for course mates, posts to course mates, communicate with class reps and also perform the normal functions that can be done on a social networking site; like, dislike, comment, upload photo, upload cover photo, and create a profile,” Umechukwu said.

Obafemi Awolowo University is the only institution that the platform supports at the moment. The platform launches in February.

Besides the web platform, the app will be available on Google Play Store.
