Microsoft has announced the release of Outlook for iOS and the preview of Outlook for Android devices. The company also announced the release the full version of Office for Android devices.

The Outlook app, as well as the Office app, which includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote for Android tablet, are available for free download on Google Play Store for Android and app store for iOS.

According to Julia White, G.M of Office product management team, “With these releases, we’ve only scratched the surface of what’s possible as we work to reinvent productivity for a mobile-first, cloud-first world.”

Recent moves by Microsoft indicates that the company is moving away from its philosophy of limiting its apps to Microsoft indigenous devices under Satya Nadella’s management.

Microsoft Outlook is an email application that includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, note taking, journal and web browsing.

Microsoft has recorded 80 million downloads of Office on iPhone and iPad worldwide.
