Android users, look away.

Drop the bullshit and let’s face it. We all need an Apple device at some point in our lives. The computing ecosystem of the 21st century is very privy on aesthetics and nobody does it better than our friends from Infinite Loop.

Much as in the same way, Microsoft still has an impact in the general everyday computing for most banking platforms and other essential services, Apple is the answer for almost everything else especially in the mobile computing sphere. The key to most of this power is the massive Apple store which has an ever increasing number of resourceful apps.

Since we know and use most of the major ones (Instagram etc) already, here are a few relevant ones you probably already have or should download and use today:

Musixmatch

musixmatch

Musixmatch is one of those apps that as soon as you download and begin to use, you ask yourself what took you so long. It’s indispensable for any music lover and works a treat too.

Since last year, it has come with a karaoke tool that lets you sing along to your favorite tracks and my oh my is the catalogue impressive. You can get the latest pop songs as well as International acts. It also now comes with a classy widget so you don’t have to open the whole app to follow lyrics on demand.

The Classic man… now you know the lyrics… Thanks MusiXmatch

The best part of the app is that on occasion it finds local Nigerian artists and syncs their lyrics live! Your head may just bust when you can finally find out what Baddoo said in that jam… (Yes, he said Indomie!)

Aaah? Ibile? IS THAT WHY WE”RE HERE???

Moment

Moment  is another great and priceless app on the App Store. It lets you track how often and where you use your iPad/iPhone by the minute. Sometimes you overuse your device as you try to keep up with those battery draining social media threads and end up frustrating everyone – your friends, family and probably your boss. (Even when he/she is not there, they know you are tweeting…)

Lets you know how many times you pick up that “bloody phone”

The first time I used the app it embarrassed me into reducing my average usage from above 7hrs a day to less than two hours daily! Convert that to productivity and you automatically become less dependent on your device!

A huge array of customizations and paid options for family tracking. YOUR EMPLOYER MUST NOT SEE THIS

Datacare

You have an iPhone.

You don’t have a dataplan manager?

You are a jonzer.

Jokes aside, I’ll try and sell Datacare to you. Internet costs more than fuel these days, scarcity or no scarcity. The average millennial consumes at least one GB of data on an iPhone each week. What with all the updates and apps that drop daily. Even if you freeload on an open Wi-Fi, you might still be left short after your 5Gb bundle is exhausted. Datacare will help you manage this.

Lol, I don cast sha. When the utilities drop…. Haha

Datacare also tells you where you were when you used all those data. It also lets you set a plan so that your consumption is monitored actively throughout the time your cellular or wi-fi plan is active.
