Seedstars World is moving its train to Uganda’s capital, Kampala, where startups will jostle for a chance to win ticket to the global finals where $500,000 can be won in equity investment.

The organisers have named ten startups in Uganda that will compete for a place at the global finals in Switzerland.

The startups include Exact and Clear, Yoza; a location based laundry service app, Commonsense app, Roundbob, Krobits, Health Portal Uganda, Tikiti App; a ticket booking app, Wizarts Media, Yaakaa Digital Network and SafeBoda.

These startups will pitch before a panel of judges incuding Marcello Schermer; Regional Manager for Africa at Seedstars World, Davis Baasha; Director at Finafrica, Stone Atwine, CEO at Remit.ug among others.

The organisers also indicated that they are partnering with Stanbic Bank Uganda and Google for Entrepreneurs.

“The partnership will allow the winning team to represent Uganda at the final event in Geneva. Beyond that, Stanbic Bank Uganda will explore potential options for collaborations and partnerships with the participating entrepreneurs,” the organisers said.

The ten finalists will pitch on September 11th, 2015 at the Outbox Hub in Kampala.
