Co-Creation Hub, the Lagos-based innovation hub has announced its TechSQUAD – a team of technologists that can be contracted to work with local businesses in Nigeria.

TechSQUAD is a coalition of techies, brought together by Co-Creation Hub to provide technical support to local firms without a dedicated technical team, who previously had to outsource services to foreigners. “TechSQUAD provides organizations with access to pre-qualified Project Managers as well as developers and designers who form adhoc teams from the SQUAD to work on their teams for reasonable rates,” a CcHub’s spokesperson told Techcabal in a email conversation.

The CcHub’s techSquad has been around for a while. Last year,  as part of the build up to the elections, the team helped to develop technological platforms to aid INEC, the body responsible for overseeing the electioneering process in Nigeria, in streamlining the process and also allow electorate track the elections.

The creation of TechSQUAD was motivated by the desire to bridge the divide between the need for local technologists, and scarce available talent.

TechSQUAD, whose formal launch is scheduled for September 11,currently has 81 technologists, chosen from 247 that applied, made up of 14 senior developers, and project managers as well as 67 software developers and designers.
