Otlob-1

Hellofood, has acquired Otlob.com, an online food ordering services based in Egypt. This is according to a report on the Egyptian news blog; dailynewssegypt.

Details on the size of the acquisition were not made public.

Otlob was founded in 1999 – one of Egypt’s first online companies – and was previously owned by A15, an Egyptian investment company. It delivers from over 500 restaurants in Egypt including, McDonalds, Cook Door, Burger Kind and Pizza Hut.

“Otlob’s ongoing success is rooted in its strong relationships with restaurant partners,” says Otlob’s Managing Director, Walid El-Saadany. “This acquisition will help Otlob to grow faster and bring in further know-how to help deliver an incredible product.”

The way the deal is being sold, it appears Otlob will not be folded into Hellofood but will instead continue to operate under its name, while leveraging Hellofood’s international infrastructure.

Khalil Bouassida, co-MD, Hellofood Egypt/Otlob said that “with Hellofood’s international expertise in the Middle East, Africa, and globally, Otlob is now poised for turbocharged growth.”
