Cisco presents, IT Battle, an international, intellectual competition.

Do you know the difference between terabytes and petabytes? How much do you know about Cisco tech? If you’re fairly confident in your abilities, you just may be the one to take your country to international IT glory.

The contest sees European, African and Middle East countries along with Russia & CIS compete for the title of the strongest IT-nation. As at the time of posting, Egypt was number one, followed by Czech Republic and Italy. The rankings are updated realtime and they are in constant flux (yesterday, I could’ve sworn USA was second).

To participate, there’s a registration process that involves you dropping your email, and entering a few details. Afterwards, you select your country and pass a qualification test, which consists of two relatively easy questions. You’re also timed, so no Googling.

After that, the real battles begin. The battles are intellectual fights with the representatives of other countries. Best them in answering 40 questions and your own rating (and your country’s) improves.

Top prize is a trip to Cisco Live conference which will take place next year February in Berlin and will go to the first-place winner in the list of participants. In addition, the best players from the final top five countries (that’s 25 runners-up) will get recognition gifts from Fastlane and Plantronics, Cisco’s partners in the contest.

The contest runs till January 18, 2016. More details here.

So, what are you waiting for? Go do your country proud.
