Google is obviously hyped for the next Star Wars movie. There’s a new easter egg (perhaps its best one yet) in the search engine.

By typing “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away” (without the inverted commas, or just click the link if you’re too lazy) into the search engine, Google will present your results in the classic Star Wars opening crawl sequence.

You can even control the scrolling either with your fingers (via touchscreen) or arrow keys (on a keyboard).

Anticipation for the next installment is at boiling point right now, and I really don’t want to be J. J. Abrams, because if the movie sucks, well, a lot of people will be googling…

Update: The easter egg seems to be working in only Chrome browsers. Couldn’t get it to work in IE or Firefox.
