iDEA Nigeria is hosting the Stellar.org team in an event in Lagos to introduce Nigerian developers and entrepreneurs in the fintech space to distributed systems and digital currencies.

The event will hold on January 29, 2016 at iDEA Nigeria’s office in Lagos.

The Stellar.org team is coming to Lagos to work with entrepreneurs and financial organizations to design solutions for pain points around transactions. Stellar.org supports the development of open-source software that powers financial transactions in real time, for free.

The team is led by Joyce Kim, the Executive Director of Stellar.org, and former lawyer. She is also a venture capitalist and advisor for the Savannah Fund. She and her team will be available for one-on-one mentorship sessions with the entrepreneurs.

Stellar.org’s network is an open-source platform that lets you build fintech products, and send or receive money through simple means like email. Some of their advisors include Sam Altman of Y Combinator, Naval Ravikant of AngelList, and Matt Mullenweg of WordPress.

You can register for the event here.
