US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield is visiting Africa, specifically Kenya and Nigeria, this week. Her one-week visit began yesterday, August 21 and it’s set to end on Sunday, August 28, 2016.

The Assistant Secretary will be accompanying U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry on his trip to Nairobi (Kenya), Sokoto and Abuja (both in Nigeria) from August 21-24. On August 25, she will visit Lagos to meet with oil industry executives, business representatives, religious leaders, and the U.S. consulate personnel.

The Assistant Secretary will then return to Nairobi August 26-28 where she will lead the U.S. delegation at the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI), and participate in several bilateral meetings with African leaders.
