CoLab is partnering with BudgIT to host a hackathon on October 22, 2016 at 10 am. The hackathon aims to bring together young and brilliant individuals and teams to create a tool that can encourage bonding between the government, its citizens and civil society.

Taking place at CoLab’s cool space at 4, Barnawa Close, Off Gongola road, Barnawa, Kaduna, the tool is to be built around Open Data and Open Government concepts which can be used to achieve transparency goals. Here’s an example of a tool built at a past hackathon.

Entrepreneurs and innovators in Kaduna welcomed CoLab, the city’s first innovation hub and co-working space this October.

BudgIT, the civil organization that merges social advocacy with technology was birthed in the CoCreation Hub in Lagos and began operations in 2011. Hosting one of its first hackathons with BudgIT might be CoLab’s way of showing what good can come of out innovation hubs such as itself.
