StartupSouth released a list of the 10 startups that have been chosen to progress to the next stage of its pitching contest.

They received 24 applications from 5 states across the South-South/South-East region of Nigeria, and these 10 startups made the cut; Wattclass, Dresnice, Studacom, Nortify, Ioumoney, Piston Spark, Payconnect, Mabiri, MusicCloud, and Garden Groceries.

These 10 will undergo training by Foodstantly.com’s Uche Ariolu, and a final 4 will be selected after a mock pitch. The selection of the final four will be based on their social media presence, the size of their target market, their ease of scale, innovation, relevance, the skillset of the start-up’s team, and their current level of progress.

At the conference, the final 4 will get free passes to the networking dinner and a chance to hobnob with potential investors.

This is the second StartupSouth conference and it will happen on November, 10, 2016 in Port Harcourt. The conference seeks to gather tech enthusiasts and draw attention to the tech innovations in the South-South/South-East region of the country. This year’s conference is themed “Tech As Business Enabler”.

You can register to attend the event here.
