EEducation is every child’s right. With technology, the future is bright

Zuriel Oduwole, 11-year old Nigerian global girl-child advocate and African Child Ambassador, hitherto known for her  tireless fight for Girls Education has added advocacy for a technological approach to education to her quests.

I am not always happy seeing children out of school; it is a signpost to poverty and bleak future. We need involvement of first Ladies, mothers, School owners and all change-agents to ensure that the girl-child is allowed to have quality education and acquire skills that would make her a wholesome person to herself and the nation at large,” Zuriel stated at the recently concluded First Ladies’ Colloquy on Girl-child Education ‘Practical & Simple Solutions, one-village at a time’ which she hosted in Lagos last Saturday.

She has since illustrated her vision for girl-child education with a mini-documentary on the role of technology in educating children around the world like she and her sister received their own education.

With the aid of her sisters, Azaliah and Arielle, she launched Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand Up, a website [named after their program] that chronicles their interviews, projects, efforts and travels in their quest for the education, and the involvement of technology therein, of the girl child.

Zuriel was at age 10, the youngest ever in the world, to be featured in Forbes Magazine last year; she was also listed as one of Africa’s 100 Most Influential People in 2013.
