If you access the mobile internet via Etisalat, you’re probably having trouble receiving and sending messages on WhatsApp this morning.The denial of service apparently began yesterday for some Etisalat subscribers and naturally, they began to ask questions on Twitter.
@0809ja_support Etisalat seems to be locking us out of our WhatsApp. What's the issue?

@etisalat_9ja I have not gotten whatsapp messages all through today.I can't send either.

@MrBankole It is. For Etisalat users at least. Been unable to send /receive messages all day.

As at yesterday, this apparently wasn’t a widespread issue for all Etisalat subscribers
@mrbankole Don't think so! Just sent a message…..Delivered

I personally was able to send and receive messages yesterday, But since this morning, it has been on and off for me. Not a total outage but epileptic at best.
Whatever the real issue is, chances are it might be resolved sooner than later as Etisalat appears to be aware of the situation.
@Mister_Mobility @MobilityBlog Yes Etisalat confirmed Whatsapp problem is from them. Called them today as advised by you.

*[UPDATE]* Our contact at Etisalat has let us know they are still investigating the cause of the denial of service and are working fervently to have it resolved by the end of today.
