Innovative ICT solutions and entrepreneurship development programs serve as an avenue to encourage creativity, entrepreneurship and also drive employment and job creation. 

The Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), is set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria, to facilitate the widest possible access to affordable telecommunications services in rural, un-served, and under-served areas of the country. 

As part of its efforts to encourage ICT penetration nationwide, the USPF has flagged off the “Changemaker Challenge 2019’’. The program, serves to bring together individuals and teams, who are building technology-based solutions aimed at solving problems in the areas of Fintech (Financial Technology), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Disaster & Emergency management, Digital Transformation & Automation, Business Intelligence & Automation, for a 3-days hackathon/code fest to build solutions to issues and challenges in the mentioned areas. 

This year’s challenge is themed – ‘’A Break From The Norm: Advancing Humanity Through Technology’’. The Challenge is scheduled to take place in two (2) regions of the country; The Southern Region holds in Lagos: August 2nd – 4th, 2019, and the Northern region holds in Kano: August 23rd – 25th, 2019.  

The application deadline is 22nd July 2019 for Lagos Hackathon and 27th July 2019 for Kano Hackathon.

Eligible persons are therefore called upon to participate in the USPF Changemaker Challenge 2019 either as Individuals or as a team (each team consisting of a maximum of 3 members). 

What you stand to gain:
