Goalr, a unique Nigeria-to-the-world, revolutionary fitness and wellness app has signed on its first corporate user, Kuda Technologies, a fintech company operating in Nigeria and the UK.

The partnership deal will see Kuda staffers sign unto and use the Goalr app to stay committed to their fitness goals. The initiative aims to promote a healthy and active workforce with its inherent benefits on the brand, customers, and service excellence.

Otherwise known as ‘the accountability partner that is motivating, inspiring and rewarding’, Goalr was birthed from grit, fueled by passion, and driven by the pursuit of consistency, Adebayo Owosina, Founder/CEO of the  tech startup, Goalr, explains.

The founder believes that having a healthy and mentally alert workforce is an asset to every company, as it approaches the business and customers’ needs with zest, and willingness to go the extra mile.

This places the company and its brand on a good pedestal with customers, who are its ‘reason for being’, and in turn maintain a healthy bottom line.

The app permits the HR or a designated officer of a partner organisation, access to support staffers’ involvement in order to maximise their membership.

This enables them to oversee the staff’s involvement in taking up challenges, and motivates them in their commitment  to stay fit and healthy.

Speaking on Kuda’s partnership with Goalr to promote physical fitness among its workforce, the Head of HR, Kuda, Busola Odusami said, “Partnering with Goalr supports our goal of maintaining a healthy work-life balance for everyone at Kuda by encouraging intentional self-care and better lifestyle choices. It’s a win for our employees in their personal lives, and a win for Kuda as a whole.”

The fast-rising wellness app is a demonstration of ‘Never let a crisis go to waste’. The tech product app was birthed during the global COVID-19 lockdown era. ‘To shed excess weight and burn out unwanted calories during the COVID lockdown, I caught the cycling bug. I lost enormous weight and discovered that disciplined consistency was responsible’, the Founder revealed to our correspondent.

The unique feature of the app is that it has an inbuilt motivation to ensure the needed regularity and consistency. Bayo disclosed further that the motivation is inspired by humans ‘love to have money and hate to lose it’.

This fundamental principle of life informed the design of a series of challenges on the app.  A registered user or company has the ability to create and host challenges, inviting other interested individuals to participate by staking an amount to a prize pool. The winners of the challenge will share the prize pool amongst themselves. By striving to be among the winners, as no one wants to lose money, participants achieve their health and fitness goals.

Goalr empowers fitness enthusiasts to join an energetic community and take on fitness challenges, whether it’s cycling, running, walking or gym activities (calorie burn), there is a challenge for everyone. It’s an opportunity to foster connections with like-minded individuals and achieve personal fitness goals.

“On Goalr, you can stake cash on your fitness goals, contributing to a pool that’s shared only among the winners,” Bayo emphasises. “As your accountability partner, we embrace our tagline, ‘Greatness is Earned,’ reminding you that every achieved goal brings you a step closer to your greatness. We’re thrilled to support and celebrate each step you take on this journey toward a healthier, fitter you.”
