For several weeks now, I have been speaking with people who live in one part of the world and work in another. In the current clime of remote work, we see, ever so often, employers selling themselves as “equal opportunity” employers on job boards, in companies’ hiring pages, on remote work platforms. 
However, last Saturday, I woke up with a frustrating question: where really is the “equal” in equal employment opportunities (EEOs)? Because the reality is quite different, especially for job seekers in the Global South.
