As Nigeria accelerates its digital transformation agenda, the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy (FMCIDE), through the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, in collaboration with Data Science Nigeria (DSN) today announced a strategic partnership with WESOnline to develop and empower a new generation of digital professionals.
This collaboration marks a critical phase and aligns with 3MTT’s vision to develop and build Nigeria’s largest technical talent and mentorship programme, aimed at bridging the skills-to-employment gap for thousands of young Nigerians through a combination of digital training, job readiness assessments, and structured mentorship; this initiative will provide thousands of young Nigerians with the skills and guidance required to thrive in today’s technology-driven workforce.
“At the heart of our digital transformation agenda is the commitment to empower Nigerians with the skills and support they need to succeed in a global digital economy,” said Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy. “This partnership with Data Science Nigeria and Hy-Initiative represents another step forward towards realising the vision of the 3MTT programme — not just by training talent, but by ensuring they are truly job-ready.”
This initiative will leverage WESOnline’s AI-powered employability and mentorship management functionalities, as well as DSN’s technical learning ecosystem, to provide participants with job simulations, career readiness tools, and, most critically, access to experienced mentors. The partnership will be driven through 3mtt.wesonline.ai — the official 3MTT mentorship portal, which houses a global pool of industry professionals. Here, mentors and mentees can engage, track progress, and co-create job readiness plans in real-time.
In one of the stakeholders’ sessions, Dr. Roti Balogun, Founder & Innovator of WESOnline said: “This phase reflects our belief that mentorship, when done right with intent, can unlock the true value of bridging the employment gap.
