The Information Technology Developers Entrepreneurship Accelerator (iDEA) Ltd/Gte is a not-for-profit organisation to support the development of indigenous skills and capabilities in software development. iDEA’s primary purpose is to accelerate the development of the software industry in Nigeria by  nurturing  and helping Nigerian software technology businesses. iDEA will help entrepreneurs build software skills, solutions and businesses critical to their success thereby creating wealth and employment opportunities.

The Program

iDEA is launching the  Fostering and Accelerating Startups in Tech (FAST) entrepreneurship program, for technology start-ups and SMEs. It is a 120 hours (24 days @ 5 hours/day) capacity development plan with carefully selected courses and special focus on startup needs. Each class has been designed to leave participants with practical toolkits that can be applied to real problems.

At the end of the program, entrepreneurs should be more rounded, better informed and adequately equipped to employ Information Technology as a catalyst for Product and Market Innovation.

Who can apply?

Startups at the prototype phase of business development, at the verge of market launch. Residential members of the iDEA Nigeria community represent this business phase.

However startups, SMEs and non-members of iDEA at any level of development are free to apply.

iDEA Nigeria community members at the Incubatee level have full scholarships for 2 members of their teams for all classes.

All Incubatee membership level prospects (startups and SMEs, members and non-members) must complete at least 70% of this training programme to be eligible to apply for the next cohort in April 2015.
