The overall business climate in sub-Saharan Africa is steadily improving, however, the growth of many SMEs is being challenged due to the slower technology adoption rate. To help SMEs profitably navigate these challenges, Microsoft is teaming up with Ydevacademy: a leading ed-tech institution based in Lagos, Nigeria to deliver free training on open-source tools.
Ydevacademy is a leading ed-tech institution located in Lagos, Nigeria. With a number of trainings both offline and online in Lagos, Kenya and more, we see why Microsoft chose to partner with Ydevacademy. This will be the second time Microsoft will partner with Ydevacademy. Last year December, Ydevacademy and Microsoft hosted a free digital skills training for SMEs, startups and freelancers with over 1700 signups from Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
Open-source tools are becoming increasingly relevant as they can be adapted to meet the specific needs of the user in ways that proprietary software cannot. This six-week training targeted at developers and SMEs will be focusing on Microsoft Azure and other open-source technologies offered by Microsoft. If you already possess some foundational knowledge in programming, this training is a perfect fit for you.
Commencing 15th of April 2021, the training will run for six weeks as stated above. Registration closes on the 17th of April.
