OjirehPrime today announced a partnership with Onfido, a global identity verification, and authentication provider, to provide her customers with coverage for secure online identity checks. Now, OjirehPrime customers will verify their identity by taking a photo of their government-issued ID and a selfie with the integration of Onfido’s AI-powered technology. Onfido ensures that the ID is genuine right away, before matching it to the user’s face. This verifies that the individual presenting the identity is the legitimate owner and is physically present.

According to OjirehPrime’s Founder and CEO, Mr. Edoka Idoko “It’s no news that our entire Playbook at OjirehPrime is predicated on the simple data that says Africa will account for 25% of the global population by the year 2050. This, to us, means that in the next 27 years, you’ll find a generation who have lived a lifetime on technology, so if we must win in the future, we must set our base right today. It’s a long journey and we’re willing to walk the whole length.”

During a recent cash crunch in Nigeria, OjirehPrime kept her promise of providing free, fast, and seamless transfers with no record of failed transactions, resulting in an increase in fintech’s customer base. However, in keeping with her standpoint of always aligning with best practices in order to comply with regulatory requirements, OjirehPrime is implementing comprehensive KYC as a requirement for using her service.

This is coming on the back of the newly released version 1.02 of the OjirehPrime Mobile app. The new version creates a better feel, has bill payment services, remodeled on-boarding, and the savings boxes have been redesigned with two additional savings boxes to further empower her customers to save more.
