Lagos, Nigeria – July 30, 2024

On Thursday, July 25, 2024, MyItura, a leading data-centric digital health startup in Nigeria, hosted an evening event for the Nigerian healthcare ecosystem stakeholders. The event focused on digital healthcare education, insights, networking, partnerships, collaborations, community building and the highlight of the evening was the official launch of The MyItura Mobile App

The evening began with networking and community integration, followed by a virtual presentation from Opeyemi Arogundade, CEO of MyItura. He discussed the organization’s mission, vision, and milestones achieved so far.

Next was a panel discussion titled “Data for Life: Pioneering the Future of Digital Health & Care in Nigeria,” moderated by Dr. Odunola Olabintan, Founder and Lead of The Health City & Panaca First Aid Services. The panel featured experts including Dr. Luqman Lawal, Head of Global Expansion at Mayo Clinic; Dr. Ajidahun Olusina, Health Influencer and CEO of Priv Health; Adedamola Oloko, Innovative Partnership and Investment Officer at AXA Mansard Insurance PLC; and Nnenna West, Chief Operating Officer of Clafiya.

The panelists discussed the role of data and technology in improving healthcare outcomes in Nigeria. They emphasized that the value of tele-medicine and the use of digital technologies like MyItura in healthcare can increase patient safety, decrease medical errors, and strengthen the interaction between patients and healthcare providers. “Tele-medicine has incorporated AI in the sense that rather than going to the hospital, it comes to you”, said Dr. Ajidahun Olusina.

By leveraging technology, healthcare providers can enhance their capabilities and improve patient access to quality care, ultimately saving lives and enhancing the quality of life for many Nigerians.

After the panel discussion, MyItura’s co-founder, Shina Arogundade, introduced MyItura’s new mobile application and provided a live demonstration of its features for Medical doctors, laboratories, and users as well.

He explained how MyItura is addressing the lack of access to preventive healthcare services and the low preventive healthcare culture in Nigeria by providing an affordable and convenient platform for Nigerians to monitor their health, get diagnosed, and consult with doctors remotely through their mobile devices. The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session which also gave room for feedback and suggestions from the attendees.

The recognition of partners, contributors, and the closing remarks were also given by Shina Arogundade. This event was made possible through the collaboration of Black Ops and Indwelt Studios,  two organizations that have been instrumental in supporting MyItura’s work.

“We are thrilled with the success of our health sector mixer and the official launch of our new mobile app,” said Opeyemi Arogundade, CEO of MyItura. “This event was a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the support of our partners and the broader healthcare community in Nigeria.
