The Lagos Startup Ecosystem in 11 Slides

While we might get caught up in the debate on what makes for appropriate nomenclature  – Nigerian Silicon Valley, Yabicon Valley, Silicon Lagoon or whatever – I think we all agree that Lagos is no doubt the heart of the Nigerian tech scene.

If there’s anyone who knows the industry well, it’s Tomi Davies. He is the founder of the Lagos Angel Network, CEO of TVC Labs (a startup incubator) and involved with several successful African startups, including Sproxil  and the Supa Strikas franchise.

Tomi Davies has put up a slideshare of  what the Lagos tech scene looks like in early 2014.  The 11-slide presentation features the various facets of the industry including academia, events, incubator and accelerator spaces, sponsors, companies and successful startup stories.

I met this man in just concluded Lean Start-up Machine . He is really a tech and investment genius. I think he is the godfather of Nigeria start-ups and he is really doing a great job. I read his start-up POEM write-up and i’m impressed.
