News reaching TechCabal has it that the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has revoked the licenses of more than two dozen communication and broadcast service providers.

The action was taken in accordance with the country’s communications Act, 2013 –section 41. Consequently, the service providers are not expected to provide any service in Uganda in accordance with section 33 of the same Act.

“Therefore, the operators listed, herein, are therefore advised to immediately desist from carrying out any communications services in Uganda without authorisation from the Commission. The public is also advised not to engage these operators, whoever does so shall be at their own peril,” declared the Uganda Communications Commission.

Members of the public have been asked to get in touch with the executive director, Uganda Communications Commission, at their head office for further enquiries.
