The services of the Kenyan online payment gateway in Kenya, JamboPay, is about to launch in Uganda and six other African countries, according to a report on Dignited.

Similar to Paypal, Jambo already has presence in Tanzania and Senegal and are currently working to expand their network across Africa.

“We plan to be in 7 African countries by the end of 2015 and in 14 countries by 2016,” JamboPay’s founder, Danson Muchemi, said. “Our Uganda office is expected to be up by end of April this year. Africa is in our focus.”

The report stated further that the company had struck some deals with businesses and government organizations to collect and disburse money electronically. JamboPay currently serves over 1500 clients drawn from retail, financial services, the media, and hospitality.
