According to the Monthly Subscriber Data report released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Sunday, the number of active telecommunications users in Nigeria is now more than 146 million in May.
This figure increased by 1 million from April. In April, NCC reported a 145.4 million subscriber base for Nigerian network operators, with MTN controlling a sizeable chunk of the gross figure, with close to 40% of the market share.
CDMA operators had 1 million active users in May, and experienced a dip of 241,024 subscribers.
