From full-on code camps to one-hour programming crash-courses, Audax is one of the most focused when it comes to getting Nigerian kids into technology. Earlier in the year, Audax was one of the winners of the Google RISE award for specifically that reason. The company plans to use a portion of the grant to to offer several scholarships to deserving children from underprivileged backgrounds. Deserving children will be selected with the help of NGOs, public schools and charitable foundations.
The last time I spoke to Audax CEO, Aniedi Udo-Ubong, their training calendar for the year is not only full but pretty ambitious in its breadth and depth. Audax has big plans for kids and code in 2014, and to flag things off, they are putting together an Easter programme where they’ll be teaching children from ages 6 – 12 the basics of programming, HTML, fundamentals of Javascript and others.
By the end of the camp, every child would have created their own personal website and learnt the basics of app development.
