NIXIT is bringing unique solutions to the mobile healthcare industry. Basically, healthcare and useful health tips via your mobile phone. The startup seeks to take the use healthcare apps to the mainstream, while designing corporate solutions for their specific needs/requirements.
The first NIXIT Healthcare app, HealthMobile, was launched on the 21st of October, 2013. Available in the market for Android devices, HealthMobile combines a sleek user interface with large amount of health data, giving timely and easy access to health information. The database contains about 800,000 Foods & Recipes for lifestyle planning, 24,000 Drugs/Supplements, 4,000 Health Topics and over 40 First Aid Conditions with videos to go. The app also contains a Hospital Locator feature for emergencies.
Co-founders, Joshua Ihejiamaizu and Johnson Okorie, students from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, maintain that the major target is to foster preventive medicine through both the web service and the app, while also making their adverts user-centric i.e. focusing on what users need.
NIXIT just won the International Space Challenge, 2014 for another android app ‘My Earth Observer’ which users – policy makers, aerospace engineers, agriculturists etc. – make better decisions by helping them observe changes in specific regions of the earth terrain over time.
