The African Technology Business Network (ATBN) is hosting a one-day tech forum in London on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 9:00am – 7:00pm. The aim of the forum is to showcase Africa’s emerging technology opportunities and also exhibit Africa to the global business and investor community during the London Technology Week 2016, happening that same week.

The theme of forum is, “Turning challenges into opportunities through innovation” and topics that will be discussed include; fintech and the future of financial services in Africa, the future of hardware in Africa, opportunities created by the Africa mobile economy, and bridging the Africa technology funding gap, amongst others.

Speaking on the upcoming event, the keynote speaker, President of Dell Europe, Middle East and Africa, Aongus Hegarty, stated “The possibilities presented by the African technology industry are endless. In the coming years, I think we can expect to see the adoption of new technologies across various industries including transportation, healthcare, security, and building automation. And with new technologies, comes new opportunities.”

ATBN is an organisation whose objective is to expose African businesses to profitable opportunities and positively impact Africa’s economic development. In the words of founder, Eunice Ball, “Our goal as an organisation is to break down the barriers to enable greater collaboration and flow of investment between the UK and Africa tech ecosystems. Through the forum we want to create a global platform for businesses and investors to discover the vast opportunities emerging in the Africa technology industry as well as provide expert insights to enable them invest and contribute to the development of the sector.”

The Africa Technology Business Forum will feature speakers who bring a wide range of expertise in technology, investment and business in Africa. The lineup includes; President of the African Business Angels Network (ABAN), Tomi Davies, Managing Partner, Starta, Dotun Olowoporoku, and Founder, Venture Capital for Africa (VC4Africa), Ben White.
