Uber has launched it’s food delivery service, UberEATS in Johannesburg. Now residents of Jo’burg can order food from some of their favourite restaurants in their areas.
We’ve been waiting for this launch for a while now. Earlier, we reported that UberEATS was going to launch in SA before December, and now, Uber’s made good on their promise
Talking about the launch, General Manager, Uber Sub-Saharan Africa, Alon Lits said, “We’re so excited to finally be launching UberEATS in Johannesburg, one of the world’s trendiest food destinations. UberEATS makes life simpler and more satisfying for those who are short on time and with the hustle and bustle in Jo’burg we know it’s the best city to launch in.”
Uber has already partnered with a few restaurants in Johannesburg including Casalottis, Momo Baohaus, Krunch, Fishmonger, Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream, and Katy’s Palace.
The UberEATS app is available for both Android and iOS, and meals can be requested everyday between the hours of 7am and 10pm, with a delivery fee of R20. Users can customise their orders to suit their tastes and have their meals delivered to them in 35 minutes or less.
First time users of UberEATS can enjoy up R100 on their first order using the promo code, “TryEatsZA”.
