Between February and May 2021, KTN’s Global Alliance Africa commissioned AfriLabs to conduct an innovation audit of the Ekiti State Innovation Ecosystem.

Based on the findings and recommendations of that study, Global Alliance Africa (GAA) will be establishing a Local Innovation Network to promote new and existing innovation opportunities within the region. They also plan to work with an Advisory Group of local innovation stakeholders in Ekiti State to co-create an Innovation Action Plan (IAP) with clear short, medium, and long-term objectives. GAA will commit to delivering against this IAP with guidance from the Advisory Group.

On Wednesday the 11th of August, 2021 by 10 am West African Time, KTN will be hosting an exciting webinar session where they will introduce KTN Global Alliance Africa and how it hopes to support sub-national innovation ecosystems to accelerate innovations that promote inclusive economic growth, job creation and reduction of poverty. They would also answer any questions from Ekiti-based stakeholders interested in joining the Local Innovation Network.

The one-hour session will aim to answer the following questions:

    • Who is KTN Global Alliance Africa?
    • What do we mean by Place-based Innovation?
    • How can we work together to maximise the innovation opportunity in Ekiti State?

Participants of the panel session include Akintunde Oyebode, Anna Ekeledo, Joel Ogunsola, Omowumi Ogunrotimi, and Sola Mathew Akinluyi; and this session will be moderated by KTN’s Country Lead, Lamide Johnson.
