On November 16th, The Next Wave, a television show that explores and dissects the potential of Africa’s tech ecosystem, comes to our television screens. The Next Wave will feature some of Africa’s most influential tech experts, including Juliet Anammah, Chairwoman of Jumia Nigeria and Group Chief Sustainability Officer; Victor Basta, Co-head at Magister Advisors; Angela Wamola, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa, GSMA; and Lizanne D’Souza, VP of Products at Flutterwave. They will discuss a range of critical topics, cutting across cryptocurrency, infrastructure, smart cities, 5G in Africa, talent, super apps, and more.
The 30-minute show will be broadcast weekly and new episodes will air on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM (WAT) on CNBC Africa (DStv Channel 410). The Next Wave is produced by TechCabal, in partnership with African fintech giant, Flutterwave, and will be hosted by two tech industry experts— TechCabal’s managing editor, Koromone Koroye, and the CEO of Big Cabal Media, Tomiwa Aladekomo.
Koromone Koroye is a creative storyteller who encourages technology businesses to use transparent and emotive language to tell their brand and product stories. Prior to pivoting to the media & tech, she spent time helping fintech brands like Flutterwave tell their stories, introducing foundational internal & external communications processes.
Tomiwa Aladekomo is an experienced media executive who has worked extensively across media and marketing roles in Nigeria and North America. He believes in products that address real human needs, brands that stand for something, marketing that thrills, and great ideas executed well. This informs his work at Big Cabal Media, where he serves as CEO.
