With the aim of transforming the way students learn in Africa, Bildup AI has unveiled  a new initiative, “AI in Every Classroom.”  Backed by a ₦500 million investment, AI in Every Classroom is designed to integrate artificial intelligence into Nigerian classrooms, offering personalised, accessible, and high-quality education for all.

For too long, the African education system has struggled with systemic challenges, including high student-to-teacher ratios that often make personalised teaching an impossible task, while limited access to quality educational resources, particularly in underserved areas, worsens learning for students. Teachers are also burdened by excessive administrative workloads, straining meaningful student engagement.

Bildup AI’s “AI in Every Classroom” initiative is a direct response to these educational challenges. “We believe Nigeria’s young minds have the potential to shape the future with AI. AI allows us to remove barriers to learning and provides every child with equal access to quality education,” Chibuike Aguene, CEO of Bildup AI, said. This investment shows Bildup AI’s commitment to creating easy access to a new way of learning across Africa.

For parents, Bildup AI’s “AI in Every Classroom” ensures that children can receive a quality education, no matter their family’s financial situation or where they live. Also, parents get an unmatched level of involvement in their child’s learning. With real-time intelligent progress reports, they can stay completely updated on their child’s strengths, areas needing improvement, and overall academic journey. This enables parents to actively support and guide their children.

Parents no longer need to wait for traditional school reports; the BildupAI app provides instant notifications and personalised recommendations to have a continuous, real-time understanding of their child’s academic progress. By providing detailed insights into performance trends, study habits, and skill development, Bildup AI bridges the gap between home and school, ensuring that parents can actively support and guide their children in their learning process. With instant notifications and personalised recommendations, parents no longer have to wait for periodic school reports.

The “AI in Every Classroom” initiative has already seen its first major adoption at Adorable British College in Enugu, making history as the first school to integrate Bildup AI into its classroom learning experience formally. As part of the onboarding, Bildup AI donated tablets to the school, ensuring a seamless transition for students and teachers.

“It was a historic moment not just for Bildup AI and Adorable British College Enugu, but for education in Nigeria as a whole. Seeing Africa’s first indigenous AI personal tutor being implemented in a Nigerian classroom tells us that the future of learning is taking shape. The partnership also demonstrates that Nigeria can lead technological innovation that directly addresses our unique educational challenges,” Aguene said.

A common concern with the rise of AI in education is the potential displacement of teachers. However, Bildup AI emphasises that its technology is designed to augment, not replace, educators.

“Bildup AI will not replace teachers—it will empower them. Teachers will reclaim up to 80% of their time, enabling them to focus on mentorship, critical thinking, and deeper engagement with students,” Aguene said.

To accelerate its goal of  10 million students in five years, Bildup AI will start by reaching 1 million students in 12 months while leveraging its technology designed for African students’ unique needs.

What truly sets Bildup AI apart is its indigenous nature. Built from the ground up for African educational contexts by Nigerian talent, it stands in contrast to generic or Western-focused EdTech solutions. The platform incorporates African cultural contexts and examples, which provide relatability to its users. This focus on local relevance, coupled with continuous personalisation, positions Bildup AI as Africa’s premier AI-powered education solution. “We will be investing heavily in research and development to expand Bildup AI’s capabilities, ensuring it covers all subjects with greater local context and global relevance, positioning Nigeria as a model for the future of learning,” Aguene said.
