For many, sending a gift or business goods home remains a source of anxiety, expense, and uncertainty. But just as in so many sectors, technology is beginning to change the game.

Traditional cross-border shipping between the UK and Nigeria has long suffered from issues familiar to anyone with roots in both places: lack of tracking, hidden fees, unclear delivery times, and a heavy reliance on informal “agents” or family-friend travelers. These inefficiencies undermine trust and peace of mind for both senders and recipients especially as e-commerce grows and families become more globally dispersed.

- Personalization: From tailored care packages to group shipping, digital-first services are adapting to the unique needs of diaspora families.
Why I’m Building SendIt
As both a migrant and a business founder, I have experienced these challenges firsthand. That’s why I am building SendIt—a product-led logistics platform specifically designed for the UK-Nigeria corridor. Our mission is to empower diaspora communities with seamless, reliable, and affordable parcel delivery, whether sending from the UK to Nigeria or vice versa.
Currently in development, SendIt’s app will enable users to schedule pickups, pay in their preferred currency, and track parcels from door to door. We are using AI to estimate costs and delivery times, automate customs paperwork, and provide photo confirmation upon delivery eliminating guesswork and restoring confidence.
