In an effort to make photos more engaging – especially for new and casual users – Twitter is rolling out two new features for the official Android and iPhone apps.
You can now tag up to 10 other users in photos uploaded to your timeline, without affecting your 140-character limit. Tagged users will get notifications and there are options to set who can, and cannot, tag you, so you don’t have to worry about spammers.
Soon, users will also be able to embed as many as 4 photos in a single tweet. The photos are posted in form of a collage. Both photo-tagged and multiple photo tweets will display in embedded tweets.
Updates should roll out anytime now, with photo-tagging already available. The multiple photo upload feature, on the other hand, will roll out for only iPhone first. Android users will have to wait a while. However, anyone will be able to view tweets with multiple photos, regardless of whether you’re on iPhone, Android or Web.
It appears none of these features will be supported on the Windows Phone Twitter app, as there is no mention of it. Can anyone with a Windows Phone confirm if this is true?
