Editor-in-Chief

Adrian Ephraim is a South African journalist, editor, and digital content strategist with more than 23 years of experience in media. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Tech Cabal. 

Adrian is passionate about storytelling in all formats, with a special focus on the intersection of technology and human interest. He is a calm and pragmatic leader who has worked in some of the best media houses in South Africa in print, radio and online, and has won awards for his work as a writer and editor. 

Adrian has covered some of the bigger national and international stories from South Africa and his career has taken him to far-flung places like Guyana and Grenada in the Caribbean, as well as the Netherlands and Australia. He has spoken at the inaugural BRICS media summit in Beijing in 2015 and participated in numerous industry conferences locally and abroad. He has interviewed high-profile individuals in business, entertainment and politics and he has sat in drug dens, telling the stories of dealers and addicts in crime-ridden areas.

Adrian studied journalism at Durban University of Technology (Natal Technikon) in the late 90s, before moving to Johannesburg to work at The Star newspaper, IOL and Mail & Guardian. After 16 years in Africa’s economic capital, he then relocated to Cape Town, where he currently lives with his wife and two children. When he’s not spending time with his family, Adrian enjoys running, reading, writing and binge-watching documentaries. He has an eclectic taste in music ranging from jazz and hip hop to R&B and AfroTech. He also enjoys stand-up comedy, nerds out on US politics and occasionally DJs for friends and family.
