If you do a lot of your online shopping with Jumia, if you do any online shopping at all,  and you own a Windows Phone device, you might want to checkout Jumia’s shiny new Windows Phone app. It’s a Jumia on a Lumia. Well, not technically accurate – the Lumia range are not the only Windows Phone devices – but I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to rhyme.

The app doesn’t appear to be native to Windows Phone. It tends to behave more like a ported web app, as it relies solely on an internet connection for even the most basic of functionalities like adding items to a cart. Still, it must hurt less than not having a mobile app at all. “Jumians” now have more reasons to drill more holes in their pockets.

Jumia is Africa’s biggest online store, with presence in 6 countries – Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Uganda.  The Windows Phone app is however available in all 6 countries but Uganda. Jumia fans in Uganda will have to opt for the Android version which works in all six countries.
