Flippy Campus serves as an online notification app and a social networking service for students.
A reminder of Facebook in its early days, the app allows students access campus announcements and share information on campus activities, both academic and nonacademic.
Currently limited to a number of Universities in Ghana, the app is touted as a replacement to the traditional campus notice boards.
Through the app students can receive notifications of activities on campus, either in halls, departments or groups and they can also share information on other extracurricular activities.
Using the app also takes three simple steps, download the app, register and choose a campus.
According to the Developers, “Flippy Campus allows students to get all information on their notice boards from their mobile phones. With Flippy, students can access all notices and announcements, timetable, quiz schedules and reminders for important events. Campus news, updates, gossip and events are also on Flippy Campus. You got your notice board on your phone now.”
There are currently seven campus communities on the app, and they include the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Knutsford University College, Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology, Methodist University College, Radford University College, University of Cape Coast and University of Ghana.
The app is currently available on the Google Play Store and it is free. The Flippy Campus team is working to make the app available on other smartphone operating systems.
