Smile and Talk Media through its gaming division, Smile and Game, has released Oga, a mobile game targeted at youngsters.
Oga is a spin off from a traditional childrens game played primarily by young girls in Nigeria. The game requires two players, the server and the guesser. Each player takes turns in guessing the foot position chosen by the other out of four possible options. The players score a point for every correct guess and the game ends once any of the players get 15 points.
According to Somto Fab-Ukozor, Head of Marketing at Smile and Talk media,
“With this game we are trying to show that the mobile game market can target young girls and still be successful, as you may know, Oga is a game that was traditionally played by young girls, and we believe that games like this will also inspire young African female developers.”
Oga is available on the App Store for iOS, while the Android version is still in the works.
Smile and Game is the game developing subsidiary of Smile and Talk Media. The platform also aggregates games by other developers.
