Kenya’s Chase Bank, has announced that it is launching an innovation hub for tech entrepreneurs at the tail-end of 2015.
At the Pivot East conference, the bank stated that, it intends to use the hub to encourage young startups and also build profitable businesses, according to a report by Techmoran.
It’s unclear what startups and innovation the the hub would focus on but, according to TechMoran, the hub would become another home for local developers to build apps, launch companies and as well employ a fraction of their friends thereby reducing unemployment.
Chase Bank’s new technology hub, when fully operational, will work with in concert Nairobi’s innovation and startup incubator, iHub. The tech hub will enable the bank pool talents for an in-house platform development, testing and help reduce Kenya’s ICT gap by leveraging on mentorships, competitions and knowledge sharing.
