Bible Topics is an app that categorizes Bible verses by topic. It has more than 500 topics that you can easily access.

This app will be useful for people who want to study their Bible topically or need to find as much information as possible about certain Bible themes. The topics are arranged in alphabetical order. And the app works offline as well, so you can use it anywhere and anytime.

I had a look at the arrangement of verses and how well they correlated with the topics. It was quite impressive. For example, I looked at ‘Persecution of the Jews’ .The arrangement wasn’t random as it followed the order in which verses relevant to this topic appeared in the Bible. It felt like reading a standalone story.

Another thing I like about Bible Topics is that it made copying verses, bookmarking and sharing, them easy. All I had to do was select any of the three options to copy, bookmark or share from the icons visible on the purple strip below each verse.

Although the app has a simple interface, it’s not as beautiful as I’d like. The combination of purple and white just wasn’t doing it for me. Also, the presence of in-app ads was annoying. But I understand their presence, seeing as the app is free.

Bible Topics was developed by Tolulope Olaogun. It is particularly useful for bible study and preparation of sermons. It is available only on the Android platform and can be downloaded from the Play Store. I normally use the YouVersion Bible for Bible Study, but it doesn’t offer this option. So this app is a welcome addition.

I’ll give it a 7/10 for utility and simplicity. Work still needs to be done on the interface and more topics need to be added. But I’m sure these will come with future versions of the app.
