The season to be jolly isn’t quite past. The new year, a proper stuporuous celebration in its own right, is still ahead. Still, if you don’t have to go to work yet and would like an excuse to go out to places that are relatively forgiving of that lingering Christmas hangover, you should check out the following events coming up in a couple days from now.

faridah

Technessivity’s meet and eat, Sunday 29th, 3pm – Their editor (pictured in the quirky mug above) wants you to come have a fun lunch with them, but to get in you have to bid on their team, whom they’ve put up for auction. Through some treaty of allegiance I don’t quite remember signing, I am on the auction block too, along with Twitter famous JesseOguns. Asides lunch, I have no idea what the highest bidders will do with their prizes. There’s only one way to find out.

thoughtworks

ThoughtWorks Africa Cocktail, 29th December, 3pm – ThoughWorks Pan Africa is hosting a networking and career mixer for senior developers and experience designers with a passion for technology who are currently in Africa or have an interest in moving back. The Nigeria event comes up this Sunday. Find out more here.

MinkuPopUpInvitation_MaleModel

Minku’s Pop-up store, 28th – 31st – If you are into hoodies and leather bags, Minku Design, maker and online retailer of exquisite hand-made leather work is hosting a pop-up store in Lekki, and it is free to attend. To get on the guest list, send an email to minku@minkudesign.com.

TNC6_1

The Naked Convos Series #6, 29th, 3pm: Now in its sixth edition, TNC’s end-of-year events are becoming more highly anticipated and I am sure this one, tagged “Cheaters”, will not disappoint. Quite a few of the young, artsy, smart and incredibly funny tweeps you follow on Naija Twitter are likely to be there. If you’ve ever wanted to meet some of these people, this is as good a chance as any. Find out how to attend here.

As a bonus, you should check out Bar Enclave – I hear Lagos tweeps sign a register hang out here a lot. That makes it relatively catfish-proof. If I am not mistaken, they open every night.
