Jumia Nigeria has a new managing director, we hear. No official announcement yet, according to Innovationville who first picked up the news, but Dr. Jonathan Doerr’s latest LinkedIn update attests to the truth of the new development.

Curiously, Dr. Jonathan has also listed himself as co-founder a startup that is nearing the two year mark.

From recent goings-on in Jumia-land, the general inference would be that the new managing director has been brought in to replace the original co-founding duo that kick-started the startup in May 2012. In December 2013, TechCabal reported that both entrepreneurs have been linked to new VC-backed ventures, amidst unconfirmed nor denied speculation that they are leaving the company.

If Dr. Jonathan has indeed taken over, it is not yet apparent. Not if you are looking at LinkedIn, at least. Tunde and Raphael’s LinkedIn profiles still show that they are managing directors and co-founders.
