Who needs Shoprite when you can have all your groceries delivered to your doorstep?

Gloo.ng is a Lagos-based online supermarket whose value proposition is to provide customers with a very convenient, efficient and affordable means of shopping for their living essentials, saving them irreplaceable time, needless stress and valuable money. Gloo.ng is dedicated to delivering high quality brands of grocery and living essentials, directly to your doorstep, on a same-day basis and at very affordable prices.

Olumide Olusanya, a former Medical Doctor, started Gloo.ng back in October of 2012, with his wife. Back then it was called ‘buycommonthings.com’, which was quite a mouthful. 6 months after, they realised they needed to rebrand. The inspiration behind the name ‘Gloo’ came when Olumide observed a trend in customers coming back to use their site repeatedly. “Customer experience is our top priority; hence, the ‘Gloo Effect’ drives customer retention and profitability”, says Olumide.

According to Olumide, Gloo.ng really isn’t in the business of selling living essentials – “our business is saving you time, saving you money, and enriching your life with happiness! Our True North is to do to supermarket shopping in Nigeria what Amazon did to book shopping in the US.”

Quite ambitious but not impossible. Visit Gloo.ng
